# CascadeScope Privacy And Local Storage Notice

CascadeScope's default distribution does not collect personal information or
usage information. It contains no analytics, advertising, fingerprinting,
tracking pixels, usage telemetry, or tracking or marketing cookies. OPEN
CASCADE SAS does not receive the CAD files opened in the default application.

The software provider is Open Cascade SAS, 1 Place des Freres Montgolfier,
78280 Guyancourt, France, part of the Capgemini group. This notice does not
replace the privacy notice of the operator hosting a browser deployment.

## Local Processing And Storage

CAD files are processed on the user's device by default. CascadeScope stores
settings, window and dock layout, gallery files selected by the user, and local
workflow state on that device so those features work and can persist between
sessions. Browser builds use browser IndexedDB storage. Native builds use the
platform-specific application configuration directory.

This local operational storage is not used to recognize or track users and is
not transmitted to OPEN CASCADE SAS. A user can remove it by clearing the
site's stored data in the browser or deleting CascadeScope's configuration
directory on a native installation.

## Network Requests

The browser build requests application code, WebAssembly modules, worker
scripts, and sample assets from the server hosting CascadeScope. Normal web-
server access logs may therefore be processed by that hosting provider under
its own privacy notice.

The default distribution keeps the optional remote-processing backend disabled.
If a deployer enables a remote backend, CAD files and associated job data may be
sent to the configured service. Before enabling that feature, the deployer must
provide users with a separate privacy notice identifying the controller,
purposes, legal bases, recipients, retention periods, international transfers,
data-subject rights, and contact details applicable to that service.

## No Consent Banner

CascadeScope does not ask for consent to analytics or advertising because it
does not perform those activities. Its device storage is limited to providing
features explicitly requested by the user and preserving application state.

This notice describes the software itself. A distributor or website operator
must supplement it with information about its own hosting, access logs, support
channels, and any separately configured services.
