Together with the upcoming OCCT 8.0.0 release, Open Cascade is preparing the next generation of OCCT Added-Value Components.
These components extend Open CASCADE Technology with additional capabilities for industrial software development. They are used by teams building CAD, CAM, CAE, PLM, inspection, manufacturing, BIM, visualization, and other engineering applications where OCCT is used as a core 3D technology platform.
For the 8.0.0 generation, the main objective is to keep these components aligned with the new OCCT kernel version and provide a consistent technical foundation for companies that build long-term OCCT-based products.
More information about the available components is here: https://occt3d.com/components/
The OCCT Added-Value Components cover several practical areas:
Data exchange and integration
- ACIS Import-Export Component
- Parasolid Import Component
- JT Import-Export Component
- DXF Import-Export Component
- IFC Import Component
- Additional commercial data-exchange support around formats such as RVM, STP XML, and XPDMXML
Commercial data-exchange formats are listed here: https://occt3d.com/data-exchange-formats/
Visualization and application interaction
- Light Web Viewer Component
- PMI Visualization Technology
- Volume Rendering Component
Geometry, mesh, and engineering processing
- Mesh Framework Component
- Express Mesh Component
- Surface Wrapping
- Surface from Scattered Points Component
- Canonical Recognition Component
- BestFit Component
- Unfolding Component
- Collision Detection Component
Manufacturing and automation workflows
- CAM Library Component
- Tools for automation of engineering processes and data
Some wrapper-related deliveries are planned to follow slightly later in the 8.0.0 component cycle, while the main component update work is being prepared together with the platform release.
The goal is not only to provide separate technical modules, but also to support companies in building complete engineering applications around OCCT: from data import and model preparation to visualization, processing, integration, and deployment.
In addition to the component update work, OCCT3D is preparing commercial enablement materials for the 8.0.0 generation, including BRepGraph-focused e-learning content and CascadeScope, an advanced source-form sample for building OCCT-based applications.
These offers are intended for teams that want to understand OCCT architecture more deeply, accelerate application development, and work with practical examples prepared around real OCCT-based workflows.

This work is also connected to practical support for teams building on OCCT. OCCT3D offers e-trainings with learning materials for mastering OCCT, as well as online and on-site training directly with OpenCascade developers. These trainings are useful for teams that want to understand the modeling kernel, data exchange, topology, visualization, and application-level integration in a clear and structured way.
For companies building CAD, CAM, CAE, PLM, inspection, or engineering applications, OCCT3D provides custom OCCT-based development, architecture and implementation consulting, connection support, maintenance of OCCT-based products, and assistance with performance, data exchange, visualization, and modeling topics.
