The relation of github repo and dev.opencascade.org repo

I noticed recent commits are happening independently on github, that is, there are commits on github that are not on dev.opencascade.org. I have not checked carefully if all commits on dev.opencascade.org are merged to github. What is the current development model for there two repos?

OCCT 7.8.0

Hello there, would it be possible to know the release date for the next major release, which should be 7.8.0? Is there an approximate regular schedule? We would like to buy some commercial OCCT products and prefer to wait until the latest&greatest is out, given that 7.7 was released more than a year

Removed regressions tests for glTF writer and raytracing

I've noticed that a bunch of regression tests have been removed by patch for #0033225 with description unavailable to community. As these tests covered glTF writer with Draco compression, Path-Tracing features, compressed texture formats, and some other visualization features, I'm curious - I guess

Dropping support of obsolete compilers in OCCT 7.7?

Open CASCADE Technology works on a vast range of platforms, and it is one of high priorities to keep supporting major compilers. I have prepared a short anonymous questionnaire to collect some statistics, and you are welcome to share your opinion on this forum thread. As you may notice, OCCT 7.5.0 s

TBB -> oneAPI Threading Building Blocks (oneTBB)

Hello, OpenCascade can use TBB, but it will be soon deprecated and replaced by oneTBB. See https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/articles/intel-onea... Is there any plan for OpenCascade to switch to oneTBB? Thanks.

Visual Studio 2015 support

Hi OCC team, Do you have any particular plans for official VS2015 support yet ? At CAD Exchanger, we have made an experimental build (incl. OCC port) but hesitated to contribute these modifications as you are apparently already taking this effort yourself, so that would be colliding changes. We have

Experiences with OCCT on iOS

Since the beta release of our application is coming, I thought it could be interesting to summarize my experiences with OpenCascade on iOS. First of all, I would like to declare, that I was very satisfied with OCCT, despite all of its problems, it is still the best option for CAD development if you

Tricky UndefinedHandleAddress

Our fundamental Handle_Standard_Transient.hxx file declares invalid address of handled OCCT entities as 0xfefd0000 on x32 and 0xfefdfefdfefd0000 on x64. This peculiarity has been discussed long time ago here: http://opencascade.blogspot.com/2008/11/open-cascade-handles-lets-handle... The main questi

Hello, This is to share some details on new items in OCCT documentation to appear in 6.7.1 and 6.8.0, which may be interesting to some people: Documentation can now include images in SVG format, see Mantis issue #24431 . Converting string to real taking locale settings into account

Working on #0022898 I had a little look on the source code regarding locale handling and string to real conversion. Why is there a CStringToReal function in class OSD and in class OSD_Real2String with the same signature? The functions are also used in a very few cases. A "grep -r StringToReal *" in

Merging OCE into future OCCT releases

Dear OCE Members, We recognize the efforts made by you in the OCE project to improve OCCT in the ways it would never go on itself, and to give a major impulse to the activity around it. In this context, the product will definitely benefit from combining our efforts. That is our motivation for this c

Float comparisons

Hello, while using the trial version of a static analysis product, I tryed it with OCE to evaluate it with a very big solution :) Surely I can't disclose the result log, since it won't be ethically correct , but I'm reporting the problem. Probably clang or MSVC /analize could report similar issues.

Relicensing

Since occ will discuss the relicensing of open CAS.CADE (as discussed in a previous thread), I think it would be a great idea to also take into account the following issues : 1) Discuss the opening of CAS.CADE products (emesh, guif etc...), under a license that will protect your interests and assets
